A tiny bookshop, unhurried
A sky-blue ceiling that looks like meringue, above wine-coloured shelves full of books chosen one by one. Chiquita is a tiny bookshop with a coffee bar in El Botànic: a lovely little corner to wander into, browse the shelves and take home your next read.
In the morning, specialty coffee and toast made with bread from the neighbourhood. In the evening, a glass of wine, a vermouth or an ice-cold beer, with something homemade to nibble on.
Coffee
Specialty coffee from a nearby roaster, with good milk or an oat or coconut drink.
Books
A small, carefully chosen selection: contemporary fiction with lots of women writers, a few classics, essays, poetry and graphic novels. And a little children's corner, with a shelf of second-hand books to keep the little ones busy.
Wine
Valencian and Galician wines, vermouth, ice-cold beer and homemade tapas for the evening.

chiquita is a bookshop-café in Valencia. A cultural meeting place where books, coffee, wine and creativity live side by side.

Browse them gently on the shelves. To keep them free of stains, please don't take them to your table unless you're taking them home.

You can buy a book and start it right here, or bring your own and carry on reading… with a vermouth and some olives.
For the little ones
We have a selection of second-hand children's books (from the Re-Read bookshop) that can come to the table with you. Just ask!
chiquita loves local, and looks after it
Behind our coffee, pastries and soft drinks there are local producers. Valuing their work means paying fairly for what they do. We set our prices so that quality is sustainable for them and honest for you.
Things happen at chiquita

chiquita's rhythms
- Breakfast until 12:30, except for any pastries left over.
- At 19:00 the coffee machine goes to sleep for its daily clean.
- For aperitivo time or an evening drink we switch gears: wines, beers and cold tapas to nibble.
